Be cunning, play smart, and master craps the correct way!
Dice and dice games date all the way back to the Crusades, but current craps is approximately a century old. Modern craps evolved from the old English game referred to as Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the origin of the game, although Hazard is believed to have been invented by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, around the 12th century. It’s supposed that Sir William’s paladins gambled on Hazard during a blockade on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was gotten from the castle’s name.
Early French colonists brought the game Hazard to Acadia. In the 18th century, when exiled by the English, the French relocated south and settled in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they left Acadia, they brought their favorite game, Hazard, with them. The Cajuns modernized the game and made it more mathematically fair. It is believed that the Cajuns altered the name to craps, which is gotten from the name of the non-winning throw of two in the game of Hazard, referred to as "crabs."
From Louisiana, the game migrated to the Mississippi scows and throughout the nation. A good many consider the dice maker John H. Winn as the creator of modern craps. In the early 1900s, Winn developed the modern craps setup. He added the Don’t Pass line so players could wager on the dice to lose. Afterwords, he created the spots for Place bets and put in place the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
