If the pay off for a Don’t Pass Odds wager equals the amt. of the Flat bet, then the Odds wager is bridged. The section of your Odds bet that’s equal to the Flat wager is set directly next to the Flat bet. Then, the rest of the Odds wager is placed on top "bridging" them. For example, let’s say you put a 5 dollar Do not Pass wager and the hurler rolls a point of 8. Knowing the true odds for the 8 are six to five (i.e., 6 ways to roll a seven, and five ways to make an eight), you then place 6 dollars in Odds with the expectation of winning $5. In this example, if you actually win the 6 dollars Odds bet, you win five dollars, which clearly equals the amount you win with your five dollar Flat wager. Therefore, since your Flat wager and Odds bet capture the same amount (five dollars each), you bridge your six dollars Odds bet by placing a 5 dollar chip immediately next to your 5 dollar Flat bet, and then laying the $1 chip so it bridges the 2 five dollar chips.

If the payoff for a Do not Pass Odds bet doesn’t equal the amount of the Flat bet, then the Odds wager is heeled. This basically means you position the bottom chip of your Odds wager chip stack directly beside to your Flat wager. Then, put all remaining Odds bet chips on that first chip but to the side and leaning on that first chip (your Odds bet chip stack is crooked due to the fact that it’s leaning on the first chip).

Confused? That’s fine, do not get nervous. The croupier is always ready to help if you don’t remember. After a few times, it all makes perfect sense. It will not take too much time before you’re a pro. If you are not certain what to do the first instance you try it, basically say to the dealer, "I want to put some Odds but I do not comprehend if it needs to be bridged or heeled." The croupier asks, "How much do you wish to lay?" Let’s assume you say, "15 dollars to win 10." The dealer will request that you drop your chips on the table (croupiers aren’t permitted to collect anything, notably chips, directly from a competitor), and then he properly heels or bridges them based on the amount of your Flat wager. You’ll quickly get the feel of it. Just don’t be hesitant to ask the croupier inquiries. His/Her job is not only to deal, but also to be courteous and assist the players.
